So I had 7 days to spend on Phuket, free to travel anywhere on the island, before being clear to then head off to any province of Thailand. In my case the next destination was Chiang Mai and the Bike Tour Asia service centre where we had two groups booked and primed for tours from late Jan through early Feb.
Might as well make the most of it , right.
I need to confess that this tour was blessed with all the things that make a great tour: Perfect weather Great group dynamic that was perfectly sized at 8 people Similar riding skill levels throughout the group Smooth border crossings all the way A terrific selection of unique resorts throughout the tour Preparations After […]
Before the new high season, 2019/2020 will soon launch our entire team was undergoing a health and safety training to get a basic understanding of first aid protocol which could prove life-saving. 4 registered instructors and nurses from a local hospital in Chiang Mai came to our Service Centre. We almost spent the entire day […]
For the first time Bike Tour Asia was one of the exhibitors at the BMW MOA National Rally in Tennessee/USA, 13-15 June 2019. Daniel and Po joined an amazing event and met many motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the world. Our BTA booth and seminars attracted countless visitors who were keen to learn why riding […]
What a fantastic ride! We were a group of 6 motorcycles, riding through parts of northern Thailand, Laos and finally Vietnam. The roads were a mix of mostly rural two lanes with a variety of surfaces al paved. This time of the year is spectacular, it’s just after the end of the green season, nature […]
So it happened, together with Kay from Big Bike Tours in Chiang Mai we took off for a scouting ride to Yunnan province in China including parts of Tibet and Shangri-La. 1.) R1093 – Phu Chi Fah to Phu Saeng Waterfall You will share the road probably with only a handful of other vehicles. This is a ride along the border to Laos in a fantastic terrain, through forests and stunning scenery! 2.) R1081 (from 1169) – from Nan to Bo Kluea Little traffic, great winding […]
Most tours exploring Northern Vietnam stay in the north-west part like Dien Bien Phu (famous for its battleground where the French finally “lost” Indochina), Sapa, (a charming mountain town) and Nghia Lo (famous for its rice terraces). We decided to do something different and to ride roads less travelled. Our adventure in Vietnam started on […]
A rainy cold Friday morning in September I met my 10 class mates in a hotel in Munich. It was the first day of the BMW International Tour Guide Academy. After a brief introduction and signing waivers that we ride on our own risk we picked up our motorcycles at BMW Munich off we went […]
1.) Clear and fresh Most of the rain falls in the late afternoon and during the night time and the mornings are often clear. The fresh air is nice and makes riding even more pleasant. 2.) Nice temperature The temperature during the day is ideal – it is not too hot when the sun is […]
