Wide open spaces, low population density, very few cars and just a couple of main roads, there are many great rides in Laos. Our tours mostly covers the mountainous northern part of the country. Beautiful Mountain riding further south along the Vietnam and Cambodia border. Same as in Thailand, if you enjoy the dual sport riding experience this is also possible with many choices for rideable unsealed road sections. We can mix and match as your adventure spirit desires!
Laos is one of the most ethnically diverse countries in the region, reflecting its geographic location as a crossroads of Asia. Vivid nature, beautiful landscapes and a vibrant culture collide with a painful past and optimistic future to make Laos an enigmatic experience for the adventurous. Laos cherishes many of the traditions that have disappeared in a frenzy of development elsewhere in the region. It’s hard to believe the sleepy city of Vientiane is an Asian capital. Then there’s the timeless quality to rural life, where stilt houses and paddy fields look like they are straight out of a movie set. Expect to discover a country untainted by mass tourism and Asia in slow motion.
People are by nature very warm and welcoming. There is usually a gratitude from the locals towards tourists. Out in the country side, kids are waving as we pass by. A school visit where we donate needed supplies is a humbling forever lasting experience.
Laos’ national cuisines are sticky rice, larb (a spicy mixture of marinated meat or fish) and tam papaya salad. Lao cuisine has many regional variations, corresponding in part to the fresh foods local to each region. A French legacy is still evident in the capital city, Vientiane and Luang Prabang where banquettes are sold on the street and French restaurants are common and popular, which were first introduced when Laos was a part of French Indochina. Our guides will make sure you get the opportunity to try many different dishes. We have mainly selected smaller boutique hotels, often blending into the natural environment, with leisure facilities for you. Enjoy a massage followed by a swim in the pool after a riding day
