You are on a riding vacation, if you choose to ride on your own for a while during the tour days, no worries, just inform your tour leader so they can make sure to check your safety and meeting point.

  • What information is provided before the tour starts?

Each guest is provided with a detailed tour description, which contains all necessary information regarding the tour (itinerary, safety riding tips, maps etc.) Before the tour starts, we will go through the whole itinerary in detail. Each morning, before the days ride, a short briefing of the day ahead is given.

  • What is the group size on a Guided Tour?

Our policy is simple, we strive to offer the best possible individual guest service and a safe riding environment. Therefore, our groups are relatively small and typically kept to 8 to 10 guest motorcycles plus pillions. Most of our guests prefer groups of this size, where diversity of age, motorcycle experience and interests ignites instant friendships.

  • How long do we typically ride each day?

Our itineraries are designed to start between 8 – 9 am and arrive at our hotel for the night no later than 5 pm. On average we cover 250 km daily and we do stops to enjoy some coffee, lunch, amazing scenery, taking photos, looking at a historical site etc. or simply a “leg-stretcher”.

  • What level of motor experience do I need to take part in your tours?

Bike Tour Asia tours are designed for motorcycle riders with a minimum of 10’000 km of a big motorcycle (500cc up) experience. It’s also very important you are confident, can handle it well and feel safe riding a big motorcycle of the kind we have. We suggest that you take a close look at each tour itinerary and daily hours of riding to pick the right tour for you. If you are still not sure, please send us an e-mail or give us a call and we will advise. Your safety is our highest priority.

  • Am I covered in the case of damage or loss of the motorcycle?

We have motorcycle damage & loss coverage. Your motorcycle security deposit amount is your maximum liability limit.  This coverage is included in the tour prices for riding in Thailand, while for multi-country tours, we have a waiver program available to obtain the coverage for the riding days outside of Thailand.

  • How is the accomodation and food quality?

Bike Tour Asia always provides accommodations at carefully selected quality hotels and resorts with leisure facilities. Besides, we select quality restaurants serving fresh local delicious cuisines that reflect the character of the area in which we travel. We also strive to cater to our guests preferring vegetarian, western or other food preferences, prior notice required.

  • What happens on scheduled 'rest' days?

Our concept of a rest day is that you stay at the same hotel for 2 nights so you have a full day then to do your own thing. Relax and enjoy the pool or maybe a soothing massage, or go exploring the local area, it’s your choice. On guided tours, we will also offer you options on a rest day, to explore the area with our tour guide or on your own or do a short ride in the neighbourhood if you would like some more riding.

  • Can I bring my own motorcycle?

At Bike Tour Asia we use our own licensed BMW & Triumph motorcycles. In this way, we secure our company policy standards however you may join a Guided Tour on your own motorcycle, please contact us for further details.

  • Do guests have to transport their own luggage on the motorcycle?

On all our Guided Tours and Private Guided Tours, there is a support vehicle for transport of the luggage with normally a limit of one medium-sized suitcase/soft bag per guest.  All our motorcycles have luggage systems for items such as rain gear and photo/ video equipment etc. For Self Guided Tours you will make use of the motorcycle’s panniers and a top case for your luggage. Any additional luggage can be stored at our Service Centre or another point of departure.

  • Is there a minimum/maximum age limit for the tours?

Minimum age limit for riders is 25 years old. We have no maximum age limit so long as you are in good condition to handle and ride the motorcycle. Pillion passengers should be not less than 15 years of age.

  • How is the condition of your motorcycles and how are they maintained?

Bike Tour Asia’s policy is to use our own late BMW GS & Triumph TIGER motorcycles which are regularly serviced by authorized BMW & Triumph  dealerships as well as checked by our mechanic before every tour starts, therefore our fleet of motorcycles is always in good condition. All of our motorcycles have a damage & loss coverage program and we have extended coverage in place.

  • Under what conditions may Bike Tour Asia cancel a tour?

Besides force majeure, we take the liberty to cancel a tour if there are insufficient bookings 42 days before tour start. Any amount paid to Bike Tour Asia will be fully refunded, or you may choose an alternative tour of your liking.

  • How does Bike Tour Asia plan the routes for tours?

Our team knows the roads and sites of the region very well. We spend months of office research, then we make several scouting tours to personally double check roads, accomodations, dining options, etc before launching a new tour itinerary. Many people are involved at various stages during the time it takes to fully research a new itinerary.
