RIDE TO THE ANDAMAN - FROM CHIANG MAI TO PHUKET Map

Tour OVERVIEW

This journey offers a comprehensive reflection of Thailand’s rich diversity — from the mountainous landscapes and cooler climate of the North, to the coastal beauty and tropical warmth of the South.

Thailand is a country of contrasts: urban and rural, traditional and modern, mountainous terrain and flat plains — all coexisting in a vibrant cultural mosaic. Each region carries its own unique history, language, customs, and culinary heritage.

Traveling along carefully chosen routes, one encounters communities whose ways of life have been preserved across generations. The journey reveals not only the geographical variety of Thailand, but also its deep-rooted cultural values and the subtle beauty found in everyday life — in local markets, village rituals, regional architecture, and traditional foods. Few experiences offer such a complete and authentic perspective on the country’s identity.

In the west, the journey shifts to a more reflective tone with visits to the Bridge over the River Kwai and the DEATH War Museum, offering powerful insights into World War II history. Moving southward, the Chang Hua Man Royal Project highlights sustainable agriculture and the legacy of King Rama IX’s environmental vision and the serene Phra Mahathat Chedi in Bang Saphan, offering sweeping coastal views. The adventure continues in the south with ethical wildlife experiences at Phang Nga Elephant Park, cultural immersion in the stilted floating village of Koh Panyee over the water by Indonesian Muslim fishermen more than 200 years ago, the village is home to a tight-knit community with a unique way of life surrounded by the dramatic limestone cliffs of Phang Nga Bay. One of Koh Panyee’s most iconic features is its floating football field., and ends with the vibrant beaches and lively atmosphere of Phuket.

This itinerary beautifully captures the diversity of Thailand its deep spirituality, complex history, royal dedication to sustainability, and its breathtaking landscapes offering a comprehensive and meaningful travel experience.

Remark;

Not every place on this journey can be planned ahead. You might come across something special that only happens at a certain time depending on the day, the hour, and the moment. These are the kinds of experiences that can’t be scheduled they just happen.

Day 3 / Sukhaothai to U-Thaitani

We departed from Sukhothai and headed toward Kamphaeng Phet, an ancient city rich in historical heritage and home to many old temples. It was once one of the key cities of the Sukhothai Kingdom.

Kamphaeng Phet has a history dating back over 700 years. Formerly known as Cha Kang Rao, it served as a vital frontier city protecting the capital. It played an important role during both the Sukhothai and Ayutthaya periods.

Today, the old town still preserves numerous ancient sites such as Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Phra That, and the city’s ancient defensive walls. In 1991, Kamphaeng Phet was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site alongside Sukhothai and Si Satchanalai.

For lunch, we dined at a beautiful restaurant nestled against a mountain, surrounded by lush greenery and peaceful natural scenery. After lunch, we continued our journey in the afternoon to Hub Pa Tad, a hidden natural gem in Uthai Thani province. This unique forest is filled with rare plant species and has an atmosphere reminiscent of a prehistoric jungle. Visitors walk through a limestone tunnel to enter this secluded valley. The walk from the parking area to the inner forest takes about 20 minutes and features a well-maintained path with steps and handrails for safety.

Thanks to its close proximity to Bangkok, Suan Phueng is a popular weekend retreat for city dwellers seeking peace and fresh air. The town is dotted with family-friendly resorts, picturesque views, and a tranquil atmosphere that makes it perfect for a short escape from urban life.

After enjoying a relaxed lunch in the area, we continue to visit the Chang Hua Man Royal Project, initiated by King Rama IX. This royal agricultural development center has brought numerous benefits to the local community, promoting sustainability, education, and self-sufficiency in the region.
