This guided motorcycle tour in Northern Thailand takes riders deep into the historic Lanna Kingdom, following some of the most scenic and rewarding roads in Southeast Asia. Over 10 days, you’ll experience a true adventure bike journey, riding through lush mountain landscapes, quiet rural valleys, and highland towns rarely seen on standard Thailand trips.


The route blends iconic highlights with lesser-known destinations. You’ll explore the once-isolated town of Nan, ride through remote countryside, and visit cultural landmarks such as the White Temple in Chiang Rai, one of Northern Thailand’s most striking modern temples. The journey continues to the Golden Triangle, where Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet—an area shaped by centuries of trade, culture, and complex history.


Along the way, the tour slows down to enjoy local experiences, including a stop at Choui Fong Tea Plantation with sweeping views across the hills, and a ride to Doi Mae Salong, a mountain town known for its Chinese heritage. Near the Myanmar border, you’ll visit the Long-Neck Karen village and enjoy a peaceful lakeside lunch in Ban Rak Thai.

Day 1 / Chiang Mai | Arrival & Tour Briefing

Arrive in Chiang Mai, the cultural heart of Northern Thailand, where the journey begins. After transferring to the hotel, riders complete motorcycle handover and take part in a full tour briefing and safety orientation. The evening includes a welcome dinner, with halal-friendly dining options available, and time to settle in or visit nearby prayer facilities.

Day 2 / Chiang Mai-Nan

The ride begins with a scenic departure from Chiang Mai, heading east through rolling hills and quiet rural roads. The route crosses a beautiful mountain range, offering flowing curves and changing landscapes ideal for an adventure bike ride. 


Lunch is enjoyed beside a peaceful lake before continuing toward the historic town of Nan, a former independent kingdom known for its relaxed atmosphere and cultural heritage. The day ends with dinner by the Nan River and an overnight stay in Nan.

Day 3 / Nan-Bo Kluea-Nan

Today’s ride follows quiet, twisty mountain roads north toward Bo Kluea, a remote highland village known for its traditional salt wells. The route offers an enjoyable adventure bike ride through forested hills and cooler mountain air. Along the way, cultural stops include Wat Phumin in Nan, famous for its historic murals and Lanna-style architecture. 


The afternoon ride returns to Nan for dinner and an overnight stay in town.

Day 4 / Nan-Chiang Rai

Leaving Nan, the journey continues west through open countryside, passing rice fields, fruit plantations, and small rural villages. This section of the route offers relaxed, flowing roads ideal for a comfortable motorcycle tour through Northern Thailand. 


Upon arrival in Chiang Rai, the afternoon includes a visit to Wat Rong Khun (the White Temple), one of the region’s most distinctive cultural landmarks. The day concludes with dinner and an overnight stay in Chiang Rai

Day 5 / Chiang Rai (Rest Day)

Today is a relaxed rest day in Chiang Rai, allowing riders to recover and enjoy the surroundings at their own pace. Guests may choose to unwind at the hotel or join an optional half-day ride to the coffee-growing hills of Doi Chang, offering scenic roads and lighter riding. 


The afternoon is free for leisure, with the option to enjoy a wellness spa or traditional Thai massage, before another comfortable overnight stay in Chiang Rai.

Golden-Triangle

Day 6 / Chiang Rai - Thaton

After breakfast, the journey heads north toward the Golden Triangle, where Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet. A short boat trip on the Mekong River offers insight into the region’s history before the ride continues through the highlands of Doi Tung and Doi Mae Salong, known for their sweeping views and winding mountain roads. 


The day combines cultural context with rewarding riding on quiet routes before arriving in Thaton for dinner and an overnight stay, with halal-friendly meal options available.

Day 7 / Thaton-Pai

The day begins with a visit to Wat Thaton, offering panoramic views over the surrounding valley before the ride continues south toward Pai. Today’s route features one of the most famous stretches of road in Thailand—the legendary 1,864 curves, a highlight for riders seeking a true motorcycle adventure. The road delivers continuous switchbacks, elevation changes, and sweeping mountain scenery.


Along the way, there is a stop at a responsibly managed elephant camp, providing insight into local conservation efforts, before continuing through forested hills toward the laid-back mountain town of Pai. The evening is free to explore Pai’s relaxed atmosphere, enjoy dinner, and settle in for an overnight stay.

Day 8 / Pai-Mae Hong Son

Today features one of the most scenic and rewarding riding days of the tour. Although the distance is moderate, the route is filled with mountain passes and switchbacks, including the second section of the legendary 1,864-curve road, making this a full and engaging adventure bike ride. Along the way, there are panoramic viewpoints overlooking Northern Thailand’s highlands.


Around midday, the ride reaches Ban Rak Thai, a lakeside village near the Myanmar border with strong Chinese heritage, where lunch is enjoyed at a local restaurant overlooking the water. In the afternoon, motorcycles are parked for a short boat ride on the Pai River to visit a Karen Long-Neck village, offering insight into the region’s hill-tribe culture. 


The day concludes with a short ride to a nearby resort in Mae Hong Son, with time to relax at sunset before an overnight stay.

Day 9 / Mae Hong Son-Chiang Mai

The journey turns south toward Chiang Mai, beginning with a cultural stop at the Khun Yuam Museum, which offers insight into the region’s wartime history. From here, the ride climbs into the mountains toward Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s highest peak, following cool forest roads well suited for a motorcycle tour. 


Along the way, there is time to stop at the impressive Wachiratharn Waterfall before descending toward Chiang Mai. The final evening is spent in Chiang Mai with an overnight stay and optional exploration of the city.
